Ralph E. Liggett

Ralph E. Liggett, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2010 at a Topeka care facility. He was born on March 28, 1925 in Melvern, KS, the son of Jason T. and Vera G. Place Liggett. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after many years of service. Ralph was an active member of the First Free Methodist Church. He married Dorothy A. Noyes in 1949. She preceded him in death. Survivors include daughters, Doris I. Hobbs and Donna K. Park, five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and two sisters, Ruth Liggett and Maxine Kebert. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the First Free Methodist Church. Private interment will take place in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Ralph will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Heart of America Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St., Topeka, KS 66614.
