Ralph passed away on November 5, 2015 at Midland Hopice House. He was born in Junction City, the youngest of nine children, to Edward and Lillian (Grassburger) Snyder on October 25, 1931. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1949. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He was very proud of his USMC record.
Upon returning from the service, he married Ilamae "Kris" Smethers in Junction City. She passed away in 2012. They were married for over 60 years and were blessed with one child, a son, Frederick R. who survives with his wife Janice in Nampa, Idaho. He is also survived by one brother E.E. Snyder in Arkansas City, KS.
He was employed for 39 years by State Distributors. In 1990 he joined the American Legion State Headquarters staff as Assistant Adjutant, full-time for eight years then part-time for the next 12 years. He really enjoyed his work with the American Legion family. Ralph was a member of the First Methodist Church in Junction City, Life Member of the American Legion Post 45 in Junction City, and VFW Life Member of Post 1650 in Topeka.

Celebration of life will be held on June 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Kansas Veteran's Cemetery at Fort Riley, 5181 Wildcat Creek Rd., Manhattan, Kansas.
