Raúl García Santiago

Raul Garcia Santiago, age 64, of Topeka, Kansas went on to be with the Lord on August 3, 2024.

Raul was born on December 19, 1959 in the Distrito Federal of Mexico, the proud son of Mercedes Santiago Chavez and Abel Garcia Guzman. He attended and graduated from the Instituto Politecnico Nacional in Mexico City with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. On May 15, 2001 he married Cirila Reyes Juarez in Cuautitlan Izcalli, Estado de Mexico.

Raul started his engineering journey with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company 37 years ago in Mexico. He traveled on various job assignments to Brazil, Colombia, and many other states within Mexico. Years later, Raul was transferred to the Goodyear Topeka plant, where he, along with his family made the move to Kansas. Raul was a talented engineer, and a very hardworking and responsible man. He enjoyed the complexity of his job, and felt great satisfaction in making sure every project he was assigned was planned carefully and executed to the best of his skills and abilities.

Raul enjoyed being active. He was an avid jogger and loved biking. He was fond of traveling to Mexico with his wife and children. On these trips, his brothers and sisters would organize mini marathons and soccer tournaments where all the family would participate. Raul was a passionate soccer fan. His favorite Mexican soccer teams were Chivas and Toluca. He also took a liking to football and became a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Raul kept a lifelong interest in learning and studying engineering. You could always find him reading a book about engineering or watching videos and investigating how machinery worked. He liked to constantly challenge his mind.

Raul leaves behind his loving and caring wife, Cirila Reyes Juarez; daughter, Mercedes Garcia Reyes; son, Raul Ari Garcia Reyes; daughter Maria de la Luz Gonzales Reyes; two grandchildren, Luz Helena and Damian; siblings, Arturo Garcia Santiago, Abel Garcia Santiago, Rosa Garcia Santiago, Gabriel Garcia Santiago, Claudia Garcia Santiago, Mercedes Garcia Santiago, Silvia Garcia Santiago, and Eva Garcia Santiago; as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws, cousins, nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 4:30 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Dove Cremations and Funerals, 3700 SW Wanamaker, Topeka, KS 66614. The gathering will be live-streamed at the scheduled time: Here . Private inurnment will be held later.

Raúl García Santiago partió a su encuentro con el Señor el día 3 de Agosto 2024 a la edad de 64, sesenta y cuatro años, en Topeka, Kansas.

Raúl, hijo muy amado de los fallecidos Mercedes Santiago Chávez y Abel García Guzmán, nació el 19 de Diciembre 1959 en el Distrito Federal, México. Obtuvo su Maestría en Ingeniería Mecánica del Instituto Politécnico Nacional en la Ciudad de México. El día 15 de Mayo 2001, contrajo matrimonio con Cirila Reyes Juárez en Cuautitlán Izcalli, Estado de México.

Raúl comenzó su carrera con la compañía de Goodyear México, hace 37 años. Tuvo la oportunidad de viajar a Brazil, Colombia, y varios estados de la República Mexicana en multiples asignaciones laborales. Años después, fue trasladado a la planta de Goodyear Topeka; él y su familia se mudaron a Kansas. Raúl era un ingeniero talentoso y un hombre muy trabajador y responsable. Le gustaba resolver los retos que se le presentaban y sentía una gran satisfacción al planificar cada proyecto detalladamente. Todos sus proyectos los dejaba bien hechos y los ejecutaba con lo mejor de su destreza y habilidad.

Raúl era un hombre atlético. Le encantaba ir a correr y andar en bicicleta. Cuando tenia la oportunidad, viajaba a México con su esposa e hijos. Sus hermanos organizaban mini maratones y torneos de fútbol donde toda la familia participaba. Raúl era un apasionado del fútbol. Era un aficionado del equipo de las Chivas y el equipo de Toluca. También le gustaba el fútbol Americano y erá fan de los Kansas City Chiefs. Raúl disfrutaba expander su conocimiento en todo lo relacionado a la ingeniería. A menudo, él se encontraba leyendo un libro de ingeniería o viendo videos e investigando como funcionaban diferentes equipos de maquinaria. Le encantaba mantener su mente constantemente activa.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Cirila Reyes Juárez; hija, Mercedes García Reyes; hijo, Raúl Ari García Reyes; hija, María de la Luz Gonzales Reyes; dos nietos, Luz Helena, y Damián; hermanos, Arturo García Santiago, Abel García Santiago y Gabriel García Santiago; hermanas, Rosa García Santiago, Claudia García Santiago, Mercedes García Santiago, Silvia García Santiago, y Eva García Santiago; también le sobreviven una multitud de cuñados, primos, y sobrinos.

Una Celebración de Vida tendrá lugar el Sábado, 10 de Agosto a las 4:30 pm, en Dove Cremations and Funerals, 3700 SW Wanamaker, Topeka, KS 66614.
