Ray Junior Lacey, born to Ray W. and Mary Ethel (Lewis) Lacey, on June 27, 1933, in Hoxie, Kansas, died peacefully on January 20, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas. He lived a life dedicated to service, family, and community. Ray was blessed to marry his high school sweetheart, Donna Lee (Currier) Lacey. They were married for 63 years. They had many great years together and he lovingly cared for her in her later years. Ray also valued the relationships he fostered with his neighbors and close life long friends. Ray and Donna lived in the same home since 1952 and appreciated the bonds that strengthened his local ties.Ray served as a Police Officer for the City of Topeka from 1957 to 1984, throughout which he held various roles including Patrol Officer, Dispatcher, Range Master, and Property Officer. Ray was a family man, deeply involved with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed creating cherished memories with his family, this included vacations, school and sporting events. He was very proud of his children's and grandchildren's accomplishments, taking immense joy in being a part of their lives. One of the highlights of his life was participating in the Tiger Cruise with his son, where he had the unique opportunity to fly to Hawaii and then cruise to San Diego, California, on the USS New Orleans LPH 11.In addition to his professional life, Ray found great joy in various hobbies and interests. He had a passion for fishing, golfing, range shooting and pheasant hunting in Sheridan County, Kansas.He is survived by his son, Michael (Kimberly Jo) Lacey, and daughter, Penny (Tim) Kinder, along with grandchildren Ryan Timothy (Kristen) Kinder, Lacey Maegan Kinder, and great-grandchildren Garvey Raymond Kinder and Birdie Lane Kinder, and many nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by wife, Donna; parents, Ray and Ethel Lacey, and siblings Joe, Charles, Frank, John, Max Lacey, and Rosalie Allen.Graveside service will be held at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery.
