Raymond Jay "R.J." Condit, 68, Topeka, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019 at a local hospital.
R.J. was born July 13, 1950 in Yates Center, the son of Leslie and Naomi L. (Orbin) Condit. He graduated from Rose Hill High School in 1968 and received his Bachelor's degree from Wichita State University.
He was employed as an Aeronautical Engineer with Beech Aircraft in Wichita for many years, retiring for health reason.
Raymond married Barbara Bookout on February 3, 1979. They later divorced. He married Sunnye Wingert-Bennett on March 26, 2008. She survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Valorie (Tim) Walsh, Denver, CO; step-children, Carrie (Jacob) Arnett, Spokane, WA, Jennifer McDaneld, Wichita; step-grandchildren, Owen and Allison Arnett; mother, Naomi Condit, Rose Hill; sisters, Gayla (Rick) Schwarz, Frisco, CO, Vonda (Jim) Thompson, Wichita; brothers, Eldon (Julie) Condit, Westminster, CO, Ivan (Yong) Condit, Broomfield, CO, Ron Condit, Wichita; half-brother, Gary Steffens, Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
