Raymond F. Kitzman, 67, of Carbondale, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born on June 2, 1941 in Whitewater, WI, the son of Floyd Henry and Inez G. Waga Kitzman. He lived most of his life in the Topeka and Carbondale communities. Ray was in the construction field for several years before becoming a truck driver for Graham Truck Line for over 30 years before retiring in 1995. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, the Golden Timers Bowling League and the Wagoneers Camping Club. Ray married Sondra J. Doane on June 8, 1962 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include one step-daughter, Rebekah S. (Ron) Finger of Topeka, one daughter, Kathy (Greg) Kelly of Topeka, one son, David Kitzman of Carbondale, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, Dale Kitzman, Don Kitzman and one sister, Wendy Boltz. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bob and Alan. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Hope Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Lynn Creek Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Ray will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
