Raymond L. Much, 92, Topeka, died Tuesday, May 6, 2009 at Midland Hospice House.
He was born August 12, 1916 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, the son of Otto Leo and Inis Barnes Much. He came to Topeka with his parents in 1920. He graduated from Topeka High School, lived in California from 1941-1945 before returning to Topeka in 1946. He served in the US Army during WW2. Raymond owned and operated R.L. Much Construction Company, and later Happy Tracks Trailer Sales. He was a member of West Side Christian Church.
He married Mary Elizabeth Tutt on May 19, 1941 in Topeka. They enjoyed going fishing in the Ozarks and square dancing in the midwest. Mary died August 9, 2007.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Rae and Todd Miles of Topeka and his grandson, Felix Harris Stroman III of Topeka.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday at Dove Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm at Towanda Cemetery, Towanda, Kansas. Mr. Much will lie in state from noon to 5 pm Monday at the funeral home.
