Raymond E. "Brick" Siek, 89, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018.
He was born on June 18, 1928 in Herington, KS to Edward J. and Clara (Block) Siek. He graduated from Herington High School in 1946 and went on to serve in the United States Navy. He eventually earned the rank of Electrician's Mate Second Class.
He married Ednalee Crum on June 28, 1953 in Council Grove, KS. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2014. He is also preceded in death by three brothers; and six sisters.
He is survived by sons, Kevin (Sharon Joseph) Siek, of Topeka, KS, and Greg Siek, of Denver, CO; and grandchildren Evelyn Siek and Lorelei Siek. He will be missed by his close friend and neighbor, Pat Smith.
Brick enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing, and woodworking. He was an avid walker, and enjoyed being active. He was an avid K-State fan.
After his time in the Navy he worked at Beech Aircraft, and Manor Bread Company. Most of his working life was spent as a Postal Clerk for the United States Post Office until retirement.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, and ornery personality.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 114 N. 8th Street, Herington, KS. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
