Rhetta H. Lira, 73, Topeka, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 28, 2022.
Rhetta was born January 24, 1949 in Bartlesville, OK, the daughter of Harold and Virginia (Hodges) Hoppock. She attended Topeka High School.
She was employed by Pelletiers, the Legislature for the State of Kansas; but her greatest love was being a homemaker.
She was a member of Topeka Bible Church.
She enjoyed arts, crafts and painting, along with watching her children and grandchildren participating in sports and school activities. She enjoyed traveling, particularly the Caribbean.
Rhetta married the love her life, Richard Lira on April 16, 1966 in Topeka. Her husband of 56 years survives. Other survivors include son, Richard A. (Amy) Lira, Waverly; daughter, Rinda (Chris) Wech, Topeka; grandchildren, Madison (Ryan) Watson, Talia Lira, Zane and Naudia Wech; great-grandson, Brycen Martin; step-grandchildren, Lauren Barker, Clayton Johnson, Carly Davis, Luke Johnson; and siblings, Nikki Davis, Dawn Gomez and Martin Hoppock. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Marcia Wilson and Mark Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Mount Hope Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota.
