Rhonda K Thompson

Rhonda K Thompson, a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and proud-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 13 2024, in her hometown of Carbondale, Kansas, surrounded by her family. Born on August 13, 1951, in Topeka, Kansas, Rhonda was a life-long resident of Carbondale who lived her life with a caring spirit, which always shone through in her relationships with family and friends.

She worked 20 years of her career at Walmart as well as fundraising for Children's Miracle Network, she was a Foster Mom, where she opened her heart and home to children in need, showcasing her passion for nurturing and kindness.

Rhonda had many interests that kept her life full of joy and laughter. Whether it was cheering on her beloved Chiefs or diving into a good book. Many nights were spent playing Bingo. 

Her legacy will live on through her loving family, including her  husband, Donald F Thompson, her daughter Jade (Leo) DaPrato, her granddaughter Kimberly McPherson, and great-grandchildren: Braedyn Burkett, Addelyn McPherson, Aidan Thompson, and Blane Kopp. Rhonda was immensely proud of raising her great-grandchildren, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to family.

She is also survived by her brothers Mike (Sherry) Greene, Joseph (Lisa) Greene, Timothy (Beth) Greene, and Randall (Gayla) Greene, as well as her sister Rebecca (Joe) Heinz. Rhonda shared her life with many friends, including her "Twisted Sister" Donna.

Preceded in death by her parents Kenny and Mildred  Greene, her sister-in-law Joyce Greene, as well as nephew Randall II (Cracker) and "Twisted Sister" Jan Gast,
