Richard Coats

Richard E. "Rick" Coats, 54, Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2008 at Midland Hospice. Rick was born June 17, 1953 in Topeka, the son of Glen and Lois (Simmons) Coats. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1971 and Washburn University. He worked for USD-437 until becoming disabled. Survivors include brothers; Daniel Coats, Robert G. Coats and Larry (Deanna) Coats, all of Topeka; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2008 at Newcomer Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Admire.
