Richard S. "Dick" Corwin 89, of Topeka passed away at Stormont Vail Hospital, Tuesday, April 5, 2022.

Dick was born January 4, 1933 in Nappanee, Indiana the son of William and Aletha Corwin.

Dick's 45 year career in the manufacturing industry took him to South Bend and Michigan City, Indiana; Madison, Wisconsin; Clay Center and Topeka, Kansas. His financial background was put to great use in companies that produced combustion control products, dairy and grain handling equipment, distribution/investments, and business forms. He was involved in several State Legislature Task Forces on Business Training/Economic Development, FEMA, FIEI, Chairman of the International Trade Council of Mid America, Board member of the State Association of Commerce & Industry.

Dick was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church, Chairman of the Finance Committee, active in Rotary Club, Boys Scouts of America, United Way, President of the Hays Management Club, Officer-Director of the LaPorte County Psychiatric Clinic, was involved as a Shriner and Mason, and a member of the Topeka Country Club.

Upon his retirement in 1998 he taught English as a second language, was a VITA volunteer for the state and federal government, judged debate teams at WR High School, was a judge for voter election polls, taught beginning bridge at the YMCA, and served meals at Let's Help. He enjoyed sailing, golf, skiing, tennis and playing bridge with his buddies as well as competitive bridge at the Women's Center. He was a faithful Washburn, K-State, Wisconsin Badger. Indiana Hoosier, Chiefs, and Packer sports fan.

Dick is survived by his wife Margaret, 4 children of whom he was extremely proud, sons Michael, Douglas (Sue), Jeffrey, and daughter Kristen, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, an aunt and uncle, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Palliative Care Team at Cotton O'Neil and Stormont Vail Hospital for their unwavering support and care during these last months.

A Celebration of Dick's Life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Rd., Topeka, KS 66611.
