Richard J. Jordan, 65, Topeka, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 after a battle with esophageal cancer..

Richard was born December 8, 1952 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Richard W. and Judith V. (Trammell) Jordan. He graduated from Center High School in 1971 and attended Longview College.

He was employed as a Human Resource Trainer at Conoco/Phillips in Overland Park for over 15 years, retiring in 2010. He later worked for Wal-Mart from 2011 until 2015.

Richard married Patricia Kay Spetter on June 24, 1995 in Delia, KS. She survives. Other survivors include children, Scott M. Homan, Topeka, Travis A. Homan, Baltimore, MD, Brian C. Jordan, Louisville, KY, Shawn (Chris) Gentry Allen, Neodesha, Brandy (Tommy) Stone, Topeka, Kaylene D. (Keith) Homan-Rush, Harrisonville, MO; grandchildren, Naftali Zeilinger, Falicity Garner, Maggie Dorsey, Taylor Gentry, Nathan Gentry, Dominic Stone, MacKenzie Stone, Gabriel Homan Zeilinger, Nellie Cress, Madison Dorsey, Kaycianne Stone, Carter Rush, Jordan Butt, Nicholas Stone, Ryan Gentry, Brayden Butt, Laci Gentry, Bryson Gentry, Macy Rush, Wyatt Jordan; great-granddaughter, Jadyn Garner; sister, Carol S. Jordan Miller: 28 nieces and nephews; and 44 great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law; and 2 nephews.

Cremation has taken place and Graveside Memorial services will be held at the Walnut Creek Cemetery in Silver Lake at a later date.
