Richard Leroy Stenzel

Richard Leroy Stenzel, 87, of Topeka, formerly of Weatherford, Texas, passed away March 19, 2017. He was born April 21, 1929, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Leroy William and Rhoda E. (Shaft) Stenzel.
Richard attended Topeka Public Schools and was a 1948 graduate of Topeka High School. He worked as a packaging specialist for the Department of the Air Force for many years, retiring in 1994.
In 1955, in Topeka, Kansas, he married Jolane Rhodes. He then married Martha L. Nance in Topeka in 1975.
Survivors include wife, Martha Stenzel; sons, Scott, Todd, and Erik (Jolane) Stenzel; step-son, Murray Nance; sister, Sandra Collard; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Jolane Reid and Todd Stenzel.
At his request no services will be held. Private burial of the cremated remains will be in Elmdale, Kansas. Dove Cremation & Funeral Service is assisting the family.
