Richard D. Lewis, 72, of Oskaloosa passed away June 17, 2015 at Midland Care Hospice House. He was born June 8, 1943 at Wellington, Kansas to Mark D. and Roberta I. (Poe) Lewis. He was raised in Conway Springs and graduated from Seaman High School in 1961.
Richard married Connie White at Topeka, Kansas in 1964. They later divorced. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1964 to 1968. Richard was a licensed pipe fitter for over 40 years and was a member of Local 165, Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but he loved KU basketball.
Richard is survived by his children: Christopher Lewis, Matthew Lewis (Michelle) and Becky Sharpe (Scott); brother Michael Lewis; grandchildren: Kylea, Christopher, Amanda, Jess, Jordan, Drew, and Cooper; and his great-granddaughter Grace. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Steve Lewis.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 5-7PM at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Cir. Topeka, KS 66606.
