7. Background: He grew up in Topeka attended Belvoir Elementary School, and graduated from Highland
Park High School in 1963. He then attended Kansas Technical Institute and graduated from there in 1975, then
attended and graduated from Washburn University in 1986. He then attended University of Kansas and received a
masters degree in social work, in 1989. In 1964 he was married to Loreen Loux in Topeka, KS. They later
divorced. He had an interest in theatre and performed in several local theatre productions. He was a member of
Mensa., and Toastmasters International. He was a volunteer rape counselor for Topeka sexual assault counseling
program, an advocate for the Battered Women's Task Force and a counselor for the Can Help Hotline, and
Facilitator for Parents Anonymous He was currently employed at Swope Parkway Health Center in Kansas City ,
KS and Change of Heart Inc as a LSCSW. He was also a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers
.During his 35 year professional career, he served children and their families through various state agencies and
Kansas Neurological Institute, Stormont Vail Regional Medical Center and Rainbow Mental Health Facility. He
was an Adjunct faculty member of Washburn Univ. for 6 years.
