Richard Martin

Richard R. "Dick" Martin, 70, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Midland Hospice House.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th.

Richard was born May 3, 1938 in Topeka to Dwight and Emily Martin.

On September 19, 1975 he married Linda D. Sanson, she survives at home. Richard was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, great grandfather and friend..

Until he retired, Richard owned and operated several Topeka businesses. He had many friends from the years he owned The Green Parrot restaurant and club. After retiring, Richard and Linda settled in Florida where they spent a few years enjoying life.

Richard loved working on cars, his house, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Richard is survived by his wife Linda, his son Todd Martin, Topeka; his daughters Kimberly Martin, Shawnee and Nicole (Michael) Kelsey, Olathe; his grandchildren Rachael (Oliver) Beall, Jordyn (Brad) Phipps, Madison Kelsey and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother Donald Martin, Streator, IL, and sister Delores Spencer, Topeka. He was preceded in death by his father Dwight, mother Emily, sister Virginia Morin and brother Robert Martin.

Richard will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
