Richard D. Mitchell, 52, of Topeka, passed away Jan. 13, 2013 at Midland Hospice. He was born in Topeka to Darell and Mary Ann (Borsdorf) Mitchell on March 7, 1960. Richard graduated from Perry Lecompton High School in 1978 and he married Diana Roberts on July 4, 1987 at Lake Wabaunsee. He owned Kaw Valley Custom Signs & Crane Service and he enjoyed fishing and camping. He also loved snow skiing in Colorado.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; two sons, Jesse and Nicholas; his father, Darell; brother, Randy of Lake Wabaunsee, and one granddaughter, Bry'Auna.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother, Mary Ann; and two brothers, Paul Allen and David Jay.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at Mt. Hope Mausoleum Chapel at 11:30AM. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
