Richard E. Passow

Richard E. Passow, 82, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at a Topeka hospital. He was born February 23, 1940 in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Victor and Leola (Smith) Passow.

Richard graduated from Northern Heights High School. He was an Army Veteran. He was employed by BRB Contractors for over 40 years. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and transferred to Christ Lutheran Church and American Legion Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion.

Richard married Kansa Bauerle on February 25, 1962 in Hoisington, Kansas. She preceded him in death on September 20, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joan Jackson on December 29, 2016.

Survivors include his mother, Leola Passow of Topeka, two sons, Brad S. Passow of Topeka, Ryan E. (Genie) Passow of Castle Rock, Colorado, four grandchildren, Katarina, Taylor, Chandler (Lauren) and Kellie and several great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Richard's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2023 at Christ Lutheran Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Inurnment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Christ Lutheran Church, 3509 SW Burlingame Rd., Topeka, Kansas 66611.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
