Rinda Ann Oldham

Rinda Ann Coon Oldham was born on June 6, 1943 to Virgil Ray and Rinda Abbott Honea Coon in McComb, Pike County, Mississippi.
Ann came to Topeka with her mother, her sister, Sandra, and her brother, Keith Coon in 1951 at the very beginning of the 1951 flood.
She attended Polk Elementary, Crane Junior High, Topeka High School and Washburn University. She graduated in 1965 with a BA in Elementary Education.
Ann married Paul R. Oldham on July 10, 1965.
She received her Master's degree in Reading in 1985.
Ann loved her teaching career which spanned 38 years with most of the career at East Indianola in Topeka. She retired in 2008.
On May 10, 2023 she suffered a major stroke. She passed away on June 14, 2023.
Ann is survived by her husband, Paul Robert Oldham; son, Jason Paul Oldham, her daughter in law, Laura Morran Oldham; sister, Sandra Carolyn Coon Ricketts; and brother in law, D. Gary Ricketts.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life ceremony is planned for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023 at St. David's Episcopal Church. To view the service live CLICK HERE.
