Robert "Bob" William Zimmerman

Robert William Zimmerman, 80, of Topeka, passed away peacefully Monday, December 9, 2024.

He was born December 2, 1944, in Newark, New York, the son of Harry and Florence (Brennan) Zimmerman. He graduated from High School in 1962. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. 

Bob was employed by the United States Postal Service for many years, until retiring.

Bob married Carol Johnston. She preceded him in death in 2023. Bob was also preceded by his parents, daughters, Crystal and Holly Zimmerman, siblings, John R. Zimmerman, Eddie Zimmerman, Evelyn Plucinik, Loraine Tenyck, and Lenord Zimmerman.

He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Bob was a wonderful musician and loved playing his guitar. He enjoyed going fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He was most proud of being a loving husband and beloved father.

Bob’s wishes were to be cremated. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
