Robert C. "Bob" Brosa, 78, of Topeka, peacefully passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Midland Hospice House surrounded by his family.
Bob was born July 25, 1943, in Leavenworth, the son of Clyde and Velma (Reichart) Brosa. He graduated from Valley Falls High School and received a Bachelor's of Arts, Bachelor's of Education and a Master's Degree in Education all at Emporia State University.
He was a loved and dedicated teacher. He was employed by the USD 501 for 37 years, teaching at Capper, Roosevelt Junior High and Highland Park High School retiring in 2003. Bob loved the mountains and took High school students on Backpacking trips many summers to Colorado and Wyoming for USD-501 (Eco-Geo).
Mr. Brosa was a member of the Boy Scouts of America; was an Eagle Scout and served as an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 175.
Bob married Darlene M. Baker on April 2, 1966 in Winchester. His wife of 55 years survives. Other survivors include sons, John (Brenda) Brosa, David W. (Diana) Brosa, Mark Brosa; daughter, Dawn Merwin; sister, Mary Brosa; grandchildren, Avery Brosa, Silas Brosa, Makenzie Brosa, Madison Brosa, Ashlyn Geels, Darron Berroth, Alysia Lindsay, Dylan Lindsay, JJ Merwin; and great-grandchildren, Landon and Brinley Berroth, Jacob and Lucas Geels.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Don Brosa.
Robert enjoyed gardening, fishing, bird watching, hiking and thoroughly enjoyed his dogs.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care or Helping Hands Humane Society.
