Robert Dean Brown, 85, Berryton, KS, formerly of Sedro Woolley, WA, passed away Jan. 16, 2011. He was born in Wellington, KS on April 2, 1925 to Arthur and Nellie (Mefford) Brown. He married Gloria Ann LaVine on June 1, 1949 at Angola, IN. He served in the US Navy and was a veteran of WWII serving as a sonarman on the destroyer escort USS Wilhoite. He earned a bachelors degree in engineering from Tri-State University in Angola, IN. He retired as a chemical engineer in 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; two daughters, Roberta (Robert) Crawford and Barbara ( Tod) Bunting; one son, Richard (Sheryl) Brown; and four granddaughters, Megan Davis, Katherine Davis, Lyndsey Brown, and Paige Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Randall Edward Brown.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at St. David's Episcopal Church at 2:00pm. Military honors will be presented at the church. Inurnment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
