Robert Donald "Bob" Sullivan, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at a Topeka hospital. He was born on September 11, 1928 at his family's farm in rural Topeka, the son of Carl R. and Nora Clift Sullivan. He was an Army veteran of WWII. Bob was employed by Champney Wrecking Company for many years and later by Otis Lane Auto Body before retiring in 1987 due to a massive heart attack. Bob married Lorene J. Springer on November 28, 1953 in Council Grove, KS. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Debra Youngs, one son, Barry Sullivan, two grandsons, three great-grandsons, one great-great-grandson and one brother, Bill Sullivan. Bob was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to The Capper Foundation, 3500 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
