Robert E. "Ginger" James, 80, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born April 18, 1934 in Topeka, the son of Bruce and Grace James.
Robert graduated from Seaman High School. He was employed by Wentz Equipment and Barry Tractor Company for many years. He retired from Jostens Yearbook Company after 30 years of service.
Survivors include six daughters, Sonya Hamilton of Lawrence, KS, Kathleen (Ronnie) Jessup of Atlanta, GA, Judy Bayless of Topeka, Elizabeth (Dale) Gant of Ozawkie, KS, Yvonne Flagg of Atlanta, GA, Teresa Brown of Topeka, three sons, George (Damita) Hamilton of Topeka, Mike Hamilton of Topeka, and Jerry Hamilton of Topeka, 26 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and his siblings, Grace Hawkins of Topeka, George James of Tacoma, WA and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Robert was preceded in death by one son, David Hamilton and his siblings, Delores, Hazel, and Mary.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
