Robert Earl Morlan was born April 13, 1923 in Marion KS to Clark and Mary Morlan. After 91 years of wonderful life, he passed into the arms of His Savior on August 11, 2014 at his home in Rolling Hills Assisted Living in Topeka, KS.
Bob lost the love of his life, his wife Eddie on June 21, 2013 after nearly 70 years of marriage. He is survived by his sons Rex (Jennifer) Morlan, Tom (Christina) Morlan and daughter Sheryl (Jeff) Vogel; grandchildren Sara, Elizabeth, Christine, Edward, Adrian, Andrew, Jonathan and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Michael on December 4, 1996.
Bob moved to Dodge City as a small child, graduated from Dodge City Senior High, and served as a chemical warfare instructor in the US Navy during WW II. After the war Bob and Eddie returned to Dodge City where they enjoyed a quiet life centered on family and friends, until moving to Topeka in 1999 to be near their daughter.
Bob and Eddie were members of St Cornelius Episcopal Church. He was an active volunteer for his church and Meals on Wheels. Bob enjoyed 38 years working for John Stickney Inc. and Southwest Distributing as a route salesman. His passion, apart from his family, was the game of golf! He was an avid sports fan and his many friends enjoyed his keen sense of humor.
A celebration of Bob's life is planned for Sat, Aug 16 at 11:30 am at St Cornelius Episcopal Church in Dodge City.
