Robert Eugene Mullin, 78, of Topeka, KS, passed away December 31, 2014. He was born on March 29, 1936 in Oil City, Michigan to Lawrence R. and Vera Anna (Lewis) Mullin. He was raised in Saginaw, MI and attended St. Andrews Parochial School until his enlistment in the Army in 1953. He served as a US Army Airborne Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Robert is survived by his wife Patsy; children Robert Mullin Jr, (May Leonor) currently in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Teri L Mullin, Corinth, TX, Joan Csercse (Nick), Palm Bay, FL, Ronald Mullin (Dorothy), Cincinnati, OH, Randall Mullin (Vickie), Ettrick, Wisconsin, Tracy Deike (Greg), McKinney, TX, Patty Taylor (Scott), Gilbert, AZ, and Andrea Maxon, Overland Park, KS; 19 grandchildren; 7 great- grandchildren; his siblings Margaret Buck, Taylor, MI, Judy Sands, Dearborn Heights, MI, Gertrude Szyndlar, Little River, SC, Jacklen Mullin, Taylor, MI, and Anna Marie Ellaouzi, Bowling Green, KY.
He worked for Saginaw Asphalt in Saginaw, MI before moving to Kansas where he changed careers by becoming a high steel boiler maker at Jeffrey Energy Center. After the completion of the Energy Center, he returned to road repair and worked for Hamm Ashphalt, Shawnee County Roads and Bridges and recently retired from roads and bridge repair for Silver Lake Township.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on January 9, 2015 at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1114 SW 10th Ave. Topeka, Kansas. A rosary will be recited beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. A funeral mass will also be held at St. Roch Catholic Church, 25022 Gibraltar Rd. Flat Rock, MI 48134 on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
