Robert F. Otto

Robert F. "Standby" Otto, 78, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born on December 23, 1932 in Lodi, Wisconsin. For the past 25 years and up until his death, Otto devoted all of his time and energy to Larry's Shortstop, where he was known as "Standby" and/or "Otto". He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Otto married Sophie in Wichita, KS, they later divorced. Together they had two children, Tony Otto of Topeka and Stephanie Otto of Wichita, KS; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his friend Larry Jones of Topeka. He was preceded in death by six brothers. Memorial services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14 at the Dove Cremation and Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS.
