Robert Bruce Fidler, 74, devoted and loving husband, father, Papa, brother, friend and mentor passed away April 19, 2016.
He was born in Gary, Indiana November 24, 1941 to Melvin and Frances Fidler. He graduated in 1959 from Calumet High School in Gary, Indiana, earned his bachelor's degree at Cedarville College, Cedarville, Ohio in 1963 and completed his masters at Central Missouri State College in 1969. He taught at Kansas State University for 10 years and thereafter considered himself a "Wildcat."
He was a well-respected broadcaster and member of the Topeka Community. He was an active member of Grace Bible Church. He had a great passion for hockey and baseball but loved all sports.
He is survived by his wife Lois Fidler; his children: James (Erin) Fidler, Karl (Becky) Naylor and Kathy Goodnow; his brother David (Darlene) Fidler; a sister Bonnie (Don) Shroud; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM on April 23, 2016 at Penwell Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th, Topeka, Kansas.
A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
