Robert Dale Fuller, “Bob”, passed away on July 20, 2024, at the age of 97 at his home in Grove, Oklahoma. Born on February 25, 1927, in Fall River, Kansas, to John W. and Cora A. (Lewis) Fuller, Bob's early life was rooted in the community where he later attended Pittsburg State University earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Bob married Donna Lee Ross on October 2, 1949. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2014, 2 days before their 65th wedding anniversary.
Bob dedicated over three decades of his professional life to the Internal Revenue Service as a Field Audit Agent before continuing his career in accounting with the CPA firm Mize Houser & Co. for an additional 28 years. His commitment to precision and ethics marked his notable career in finance.
A veteran of the Navy, Bob served with distinction and embraced the camaraderie and discipline that military life fostered. His service was an integral part of his identity, and he carried the values of duty and honor throughout his life.
Beyond his professional and military life, Bob was a man of diverse interests. An avid coin collector, he also found joy in writing poetry and stories. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for boating and fishing. A true philanthropist, Bob generously supported veterans' causes, reflecting his deep respect for his fellow servicemen and women.
Bob's sense of humor and capacity to bring joy were legendary among those who knew him. He traveled the world, yet always cherished time spent with his family and the simple pleasures of life.
He is survived by his sons, Ron Fuller and his wife Vickie of Grove, OK, and Dan Fuller and Kathy Russell of Topeka, KS; grandchildren Ian Fuller (Terinia Reid), Joseph Fuller (Beth), and Betsy Anderson (Josh); great-grandchildren Alex, Kross, Orrin, Hawke, Stone Fuller, Truman Anderson, Haley Fender; (Thad Hawke), Lindsey Fender (Tyler Pawley), great-great-grandson, Brenton; and Brooke Soule' (Jackson). Bob also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Fuller and Cora A. Lewis Fuller, his wife Donna, his identical twin brother, another brother, and a sister.
Bob Fuller's life was marked by his generosity, humor, and unwavering integrity. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 2914 SE Michigan Ave, Topeka, KS 66605.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church.
