Robert James "Bob" Gisi, 75, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019.
He was born January 5, 1944, in Ipswich, South Dakota, the son of Peter James and Veronica Helena (Zimmerman) Gisi.
Bob worked on various farms in South Dakota and did mechanic work in Aberdeen and Groton in South Dakota. He also was a crew member for a race car driver in Aberdeen. He moved his family to Topeka, Kansas in 1978 and worked with his brother, George, as a partner with Gisi Bros. VW Repair for 12 years. Later he was a mechanic for Yinglings Auto Service in Topeka.
Bob married Sharon Yvonne Fadness on June 23, 1967 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2011.
Survivors include his son, James E. Gisi, Topeka; his granddaughter, Ashton Gisi; great-granddaughter, Winslet; sister, Theresa (Joe) Malsam, Sibley, Iowa; and two brothers, George (Marjorie) Gisi, Topeka and LeRoy Gisi, Cogswell, North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Michael Robert Gisi.
Bob enjoyed camping with his family and going to the casino, playing dice games with family and friends, gardening, and making his special hot sauce. He could fix most anything and was always willing to help others.
Honoring his request, cremation is planned. Inurment will take place at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
