Robert L. Brannam

Robert L. Brannam, 93, Topeka, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Aldersgate Village. Robert was born November 5, 1917 in Grundy County MO, the son of John Grady and Lena (Kemp) Brannam.
Bob served in the US Navy Seabees during WWII in the South Pacific. He was married to Elizabeth (Betty) Haugsness on February 20th, 1964. Bob is preceded in death by his father, mother, one brother and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of the home; two daughters, Jenifer (John) Telshaw of Wakarusa, Jill Brannam of Baldwin City; one son, Robert O. Brannam of Laredo, MO; one step-daughter, Barb Smelter of Topeka; two step-sons, Bruce Murray of Freemont, NE and Mark Lewis of Odessa, MO; sister, Mary Nigh of Albuquerque, NM; 1 grandchild, 9 step-grandchildren, one great-grand child and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 27, at Auburn Presbyterian Church in Auburn, KS. A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66606. Interment with military honors will follow at Simmerwell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St., Topeka, KS 66614.
