Robert Lee Rogers, 88 of Forsyth, Missouri passed away July 21, 2014 at the Missouri Veterans Home at Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He was born August 20, 1925 at Topeka, Kansas to Ray and Ellen (Cassells) Rogers. He was raised in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High in 1943. He attended Strickler's Business College.
Robert served in the US Coast Guard from 1943-1946. On September 15, 1946 he married Mary Louise Boyer at Topeka. He was employed as the district manager for Ryder Truck Rental, Inc. for 34 years in Wichita, KS and he was a member of the Mason's and the Rotary Club. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf.
Robert is survived by his wife Mary of Forsyth, MO; his daughter Stefani Brannon and her husband Glenn of Grapevine, TX; two sons, Steve Rogers and his wife Sandra of Reed Springs, MO and Scott Rogers of Arlington, TX; three sisters, Shirley Boucher of Glendale, CA, Patricia Griffin of Paola, KS and Sharon Clemens of Ft. Collins, CO; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Warren Rogers of Bartlesville, OK and his sister Jane Rogers of San Marcos, CA.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 2-4PM at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service. The funeral, also at Dove's Chapel, will be at 11:00AM on Monday, July 28, 2014. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
