Robert Lee Morris

Robert Lee "Bob" Morris, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at a Topeka hospital. He was born February 14, 1934 in Topeka, the son of Frank and Eva (Wright) Morris.

Bob graduated from Topeka High School in 1952 and attended Washburn University. He was an Army Veteran during the Korean War. Bob was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad for over 30 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and the VFW. He was also an avid bowler, participating in many leagues and tournaments.

Bob married Edith "Butch" Vervynck on July 19, 1958 in Topeka. They were married for 62 years. She preceded him in death on December 17, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lois Haid.

Survivors include children, Steve (Belinda) Morris of Rossville, Richard "Rick" Morris of Topeka, Roger Morris of Topeka, nine grandchildren, Bailey Wehner, Devin Morris, Jared Morris, Amanda Howe, Jenna Miller, Sara Iliff, Kayla Morris, Janae Nilges and Brant Morris, thirteen great-grandchildren and his siblings, Franklin (Sandy) Morris of Topeka and Luther Eugene Morris of Evanston, Wyoming.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Private inurnment will take place in Shawnee Center Cemetery at Wakarusa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2700 SE Virginia Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66605 or to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
