Robert D. Onek

Robert D. Onek, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at a Topeka hospital. He was born September 25, 1936 in Hiawatha, the son of George and Dorothy (Fiegenbaum) Onek, Jr.
Robert graduated from Hiawatha High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from the University of Kansas in 1960. He was an Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. Robert was a self-employed architect. He also worked for U.S.D 501. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the Topeka Art Guild, the Optimist Club and volunteered for the Helping Hands Humane Society.
Robert married Carolyn Joy Fischer on October 7, 1961 in Lawrence. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Austen (Melissa) Onek of Memphis, Tennessee, two grandchildren, Tristen and Emma and his siblings, Martha Biesenthal of Wamego, Katherine Berg of Topeka, Louis Onek of Lebo, Kansas, his brother-in-law, Marvin Bosse of Wheaton, Kansas and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and no services are presently planned. Private inurnment will take place in the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery at Fort Riley, Kansas at a later date.
