TOPEKA, KANSAS
Robert Lee Quinley, 77, Topeka, died Saturday, Jan. 17. 2004 at home. He was born September 24, 1926 to Charles R. and Nell Peters Quinley in Weston, MO. The family moved to Topeka when he was two years old. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1944. He attended Washburn College and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1953 with a bachelor's degree in Bacteriology.
Mr. Quinley was a microbiologist at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Labratory Services for 35 years. He retired in 1988.
He had been a volunteer instructor for the Hunter Safety program.
He married Paula McVay on May 2, 1961 in Kansas City, MO. She survives. Other survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, James R. and Mary Quinley, Layton, Utah; and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Massey.
Mr. Quinley will be cremated. No services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, C.A.T. (Cat Association of Topeka) or the Helping Hands Humane Society.
