Robert Robinson, Sr., 82, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015.
He was born March 13, 1933 in Jackson, Mississippi, the son of Ray and Ora Belle (Hopkins) Robinson. He was a graduate of Jim Hill High School, Jackson, MS. He served in the U.S. Army.
Robert was employed by the Allis Chalmers, United Methodist Homes and later Presbyterian Manor in Topeka.
Survivors include his companion of 28 years, Karen Emery, Topeka; three children, Lequita "Cookie" Robinson, Robert "JR" "Gina" Robinson, Jr. and Tuteluann "Tiny" Riley; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Moses (Ida) Robinson, Rock Island, IL; sister, Alberta McCarty, Jackson, MS; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, Leroy Robinson, Anne Anderson, Isaiah Robinson, Bertha Clark and Rose Elliott; and two nephews, Charles Clark and Robert Anderson.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow the service.
