Robert "Bob" Small, 74, Carbondale, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at a local hospital.
Bob was born June 29, 1946 in Albany, CA, the son of Edward and Mary (Jackson) Small. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1965.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 - 1968.
He was employed as a Tire builder at Goodyear for 37 years, retiring in 2006.
Bob was a member of Topeks Camping Club and VFW Post 2709 in Scranton.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, traveling, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob married Sandra Rowan in 1968 and later divorced. He married Sherry Anstaett May on October 15, 1977. His wife of 43 years survives. Other survivors include children, Steven May, Joplin, MO, Krystal Heiman, Scranton, KS, Amanda (John) Griffis, Blythewood, SC, Melissa (Adrian) Clinger, Sugar City, ID; grandchildren, Trenton, Tucker, Kaylee, Samuel, Eli, Nathaniel, Noah, Miles, Luke, Mikhael, Austin, Jordan, Shaylie, Braxton, Hallye, Elizabeth, Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Lorenzo; and sister, Patricia (Mike) Jantzen. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Michael Small.
A Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be in the Carbondale Cemetery.
