Robert W. Street, (LTC RET.) 85, of Tecumseh, passed away, Wednesday, October 4, 2006.
Robert was born September 1, 1921 in Gravett, Arkansas the son of Guy and Ruth Street. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
He married Olive I. Flory October 22, 1941.
Mr. Street made the military his career serving in World War II and Korea retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1965. He served as president of Jim Clark Leasing upon his retirement.
Survivors include his wife Olive of the home; his children, Bob Street, Modesto, CA; John Street; Little Rock, AR; Ruth Allison, Tecumseh, KS; Joe Street, Gig Harbor, WA; two sisters, Barbara Oakson, Lecompton, KS; Helen Williams of MO; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Street.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2006 at the Lone Star Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow at the Washington Creek Cemetery in Douglas County. Mr. Street will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to either the Alzheimer's Association, 515 S. Kansas Avenue, B2, Topeka, 66603 or Midland Hospice House, 200 SW Frazier Cr., Topeka, KS 66606.
