Robert W. Coelho

Robert W. "Yankee Bob" Coelho, 66, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at a Topeka hospital. He was born on November 29, 1941 in Taunton, MA, the son of John and Hilda Vieira Manter. He had resided in Topeka since 1980. Bob was an Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam War and a member of Post No. 400 of the American Legion. Bob married Darlene J. Larson on March 15, 1983 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include five daughters, Tiara Coelho of Topeka, Terri Lynn Stuthers of Florida, Kathy Morgan of Indiana, Tracey Coelho of California, Leanne Coelho of Colorado, a special sister-in-law, Janice Travis of Topeka, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one cousin, Dennis Yodsnukis of Anson, MI and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Judy Navarro. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Cremation will follow services. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Bob will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Tiara Coelho Educational Fund c/o Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 S.E.
