Robert W. "Bob" Mulligan, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2006 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born on May 30, 1925 in Topeka, the son of Thomas E. and Eugenia Cullivan Mulligan. He graduated from Hayden High School. He was a Marine Corp veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific. Bob was civilian employee at Forbes Air Force Base serving as a Management Analyst before retiring in 1975. He also owned and operated Mulligan Transfer and Mini Storage. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Philip Billard Post No. 1650, American Legion Post No. 400 and attended Assumption Catholic Church. Bob married Maxine McKibben on December 6, 1943 in San Diego, CA. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Lewis of Topeka, Lori Shelton of Topeka, two grandsons, Kevin Lewis of Shawnee, Kyle Lewis of Olathe, two brothers, Thomas Mulligan and Patrick Mulligan both of Topeka and two twin sisters, Noreen DeFiore and Maureen DeFiore of Baldwin, NY. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Bob will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
