Robert "Bob" Wilden, Sr., 91, (formerly of Hastings, NE) died Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Topeka, KS following a brief illness. Bob was born in January of 1926 in Owosso, MI to Albert and Lillian Wilden.
He was preceded in death by his sister Catherine and his beloved wife Norma. Bob is survived by 7 children: Suzanne Nadeau, Topeka, KS; Bob Wilden, Jr., Lee Summit, MO; Dennis Wilden, Omaha, NE; Christine Lewis, Sarasota, FL; Lillian Hollingsed, Phoenix, AZ; Patricia Wilden, Topeka, KS and Joseph Wilden also of Topeka, KS. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Bob met Norma while he was in the Army, stationed at Hastings, NE. They were married for 62 years. For most of his life Bob worked as an optician and an optical dispenser. He loved working with the public; he could make a new friend in an instant. He was an avid card player and irrepressible dancer who loved great music, a good joke and a cold beer.
In recent years Bob was a resident of Lexington Park in Topeka. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to the excellent staff at Lexington and also to the staff of Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their love and support for Bob and his family.

A memorial will be held at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th, Topeka, Kansas 66606 on Saturday, October 7, 2017; Visitation at 11:00 a.m.; service at 12:00 p.m.
