Roberto Solis

Roberto "Bert" Solis, 73, of Auburn, was promoted to glory on Friday, September 3, 2021.

Bert was born September 24, 1947, in Dagupan City, Philippines, the son of Nicanor and Rosita (Ubando) Solis.

He received a Doctorate degree in Divinity from Golden State School of Theology.

Bert was a member of the pastoral staff of the International Baptist Church in Manila, Philippines from 1979 to 1992. From 1992 until his death, he was a missionary to Filipino-Americans here in the United States. He was also a member of the Topeka Baptist Church of Topeka and Colonial Hills Baptist Church of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Bert married Jovita "Jovie" Godoy on September 18, 1975 in Manila, Philippines.

Survivors include his wife, Jovie of Auburn; his children, Anne Michele McCormick of Auburn, Paul Michael (Marivic) Solis of the Philippines and Kristine Joy (Vinci) Huera of Dubai; his grandchildren, Mikael Blane Solis, Hannah Alexa McCormick, Vynz Tyler Kal-el Huera and Teddy Eugene McCormick, II. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bert enjoyed reading and studying his Bible.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 24, 2021 in the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka, Kansas 66604. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service time. Entombment will follow.
