Robyn Bider, age 63, passed away in her Topeka, KS home on April 14, 2020 following a 19-year battle with breast cancer. Robyn was the wife of Bill Bider for 39 wonderful years and the mother of Lucas, a medical doctor working in Little Rock, AR with his wife Erin, also a doctor.
Robyn was born in Garden City, KS to Frank and Marilyn Schmale and had sisters, Rikki Rueb (husband Randy) and Rhonda Stone (husband Steve) and brother Frank (wife Cheryl). Robyn attended Kansas State University in Manhattan and received a sign language interpreter degree from Johnson County community college one month before Lucas was born in 1990. Robyn worked for the Kansas Department of Social Services, as a substitute school teacher, and a personal aide to two handicapped individuals.
Robyn co-led a Bible study in the State of Kansas women's prison in Topeka for 16 years. She also was a leader for AWANA programs for kids and a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of Lion & Lamb Church in Topeka.
Robyn loved to read children's books to kids, take walks, watch the sunset, sit on the front porch with Bill watching the kids and dogs play, and spend time with family and friends. She loved the wide-open spaces of western Kansas. Her sunny smile will be greatly missed by her friends and family and neighbors.
