Roger L. Johnson

Roger L. Johnson, age 73, of Topeka, Kansas died on August 2, 2024. He was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on December 13, 1950, the oldest son of Robert L. and Margaret A. (Zupan) Johnson. He graduated from Pittsburg High School and earned bachelor and master's degrees from Pittsburg State University. On January 26, 1973 he married Roberta Ann Colbert in Pittsburg, Kansas.

He practiced as a certified public accountant for over thirty years in Kansas. He was a partner in the firms of Fox & Company and Grant Thornton and a founding partner in the Topeka firm of Wendling, Noe, Nelson & Johnson.

He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, were he served as an usher for over thirty years. He was a charter member of the Topeka South Rotary Club and the Club honored him as a Paul Harris Fellow in 1994. He was a life member of the Pittsburg State University Alumni Association, the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the National and Kansas Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.

He loved to travel with is wife, family and friends. His trips included Rome, Ireland, and many States. His greatest joy was attending all of his grandchildren's activities; family gatherings and genealogy.

He is survived by his best friend and wife, Roberta, of the home; sons, Paul (Dana) Johnson and Chris (Codi) Johnson; daughter, Kim (Dave) Workman; seven grandchildren, Drew Killmer, Natalie Johnson, Johnathan Workman, Jolie Workman, Madelyn Johnson, Mckenzie Johnson and Caleb Johnson; his brother, John Johnson, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws, cousins, nephews and nieces, and their families.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th St # A, Topeka, KS 66614. His family will greet friends and relatives beginning at 9:15am on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. He will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, KS. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in his name.
