Roger L. Pressgrove, 66, of Las Cruces, NM, formerly of Silver Lake, KS passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012. He was born September 29, 1945 in Silver Lake, the son of Leon S. and Blanch E. (Ginter) Pressgrove.
Roger was raised in Silver Lake and graduated from Sliver Lake High School in 1963. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Washburn University in 1967. After college, Roger served his country in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970. He made his career in Information Technology, working for various government contractors. Roger loved life and lived it to its fullest, never hesitating to stand out on his own. He enjoyed playing golf, skiing, reading a good book, watching sporting events and playing in a bridge club.
Roger is survived by his sister, Nancy Cool, and nephews, Jeff and Brad Mickens. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 25th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66606. A private inurnment will take place at Silver Lake Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 1221 SW 17th St., Topeka, KS 66604.
