Ronald L. Douglas, 71, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at his home.
He was born April 8, 1941 in Topeka, the son of Porter R. and Hazel Farley Douglas. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1959. Ron was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 43 years before retiring in 2003. He then went to work for Glory Days Pizza and Durham School Services.
Ron married Ann Macey on March 3, 1961 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Ronna (Sam Guy) Blocker, Cara (Quentin) Carver, Rachel Mesecher and Keeley (James) McWilliams, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, his brother, Robert Douglas and his 4 beloved dogs, Gidget, Tipper, Suzy Q and Sir Bailey.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place in Bethel Cemetery southeast of Topeka at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Rd., Topeka, KS 66617.
