Ron had a dedicated career at Stryker Services, where he spent 25 years working in HVAC Services. Known for his incredible rapport with clients, he knew everyone he worked for on a first-name basis and was sought after by many throughout the community due to his unwavering commitment to helping others. His career was not just a job—it was an extension of his generous spirit and care for the people he served.
A proud graduate of Highland Park High School in 1972, Ron was more than a skilled technician; he was a devoted family man and a member of the Topeka Baptist Church for 20 years. His faith profoundly influenced his life, as he placed his Lord and Savior first in everything he did. Ron enjoyed the simplicity of life, always striving to make the world around him brighter. If he could make just one person smile in a day, that day was deemed successful.
Family was paramount to Ron. He was a devoted son dedicating his time after retirement to caring for all of his moms needs which brought him great joy. He was a loyal supporter at every activity involving his children and grandchildren and was known for going out of his way to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He took immense pride in his son Ben and cherished time spent with his family, which included his beloved wife Marla, with whom he shared 23 years of marriage, and their children: Ben (Danielle) Heusted, Michael (Jennifer) Cummings, Matthew (Jessi) Cummings, and Layla (Dan) Moorefield. He was a proud grandfather to Shawn (Taylor) Cummings, Andrew Moorefield, Cora Cummings, Maggie Heusted, and Rowan Ronald Heusted, as well as a great-granddaughter Devin Cummings. Survived by siblings Dennis (Vicki) Heusted and Diane (Bob) Payne, along with his mother Marian Heusted..
Ron had a wide range of interests that showcased his vibrant spirit. He started each day reading scripture and found joy in volunteering. When he was not helping or volunteering he enjoyed traveling, mowing and napping whenever the opportunity arose. In his younger years he enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles and playing the harmonica.
Throughout his life, Ron was an esteemed member of his community, providing support to those in need. Ron enjoyed meeting new clients while volunteering for Meals on Wheels. He continually sought to learn and grow in his faith, sharing his knowledge while leading an adult Bible study group.
The legacy of Ronald Wayne Heusted is one of kindness, love, and unwavering support. He lived for the people around him, leaving a warm and enduring mark on their hearts. His sudden passing is a significant loss to both family and community, yet the memories and the love he instilled in all will live on.
