Ronald L. "Bear" Allen, 72, of Topeka, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016.
He was born July 30, 1943, in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Louis Allen and Alyce and Clyde Simon. He was a graduate of Riley Co. High School and was employed by the State Dept. of Transportation until his retirement. He enjoyed racing, shooting pool, dancing, and tinkering with anything he thought needed fixing.
Survivors include sons, Jason and Rick Allen; companion, Betty Barngrover; grandchildren, Ricky Allen, and Aiden and Piper Allen; and great-grandchildren, Alexis and Payton Allen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; uncle and aunt, Adolph and Gladys Sedivy.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66606, where the family will receive guests one hour prior to the service.
