Ronald Wayne Crandall, 70, Topeka, passed away July 28, 2011. The only child of Earl W. and Mabel Pedersen Crandall, he was born November 18, 1940 in Superior, NE. He graduated from Hardy Nebraska High School in 1958. Upon completion of his military service in the United States Air Force at Strategic Air Command Headquarters at Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, NE, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Meteorology. He was employed by the National Weather Service for 30 years and retired in 1997 as a Lead Forecaster at the Topeka, Kansas Weather Service Office. He was married to Iola Eberhardt and they were later divorced. To this union was born a son, Steven Paul Crandall. On July 11, 1986, he married Helen Rees Webber in Topeka. She survives at the home. Other survivors include his son, Steven and wife, Tamara of Arvada, CO; step-son, Rees Webber and wife, Kathy, Topeka; and step-daughter, Suzanne Webber Seawel and husband, Scott, Manchester, MO. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Dale Crandall and Dane Crandall, Denver, CO; and 7 step-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Private family inurnment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at Topeka Bible Church, 1101 SW Mulvane at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2011.
